Job Title: Director of Community Outreach

SUMMARY
The Director of Community Outreach works collaboratively with the CRC Board of Trustees and the Director of Programming to establish and communicate the vision of the Conflict Resolution Center and ensure that the organization adheres to the mission set forth. The Director of Community Outreach is the primary staff member responsible for representing the Conflict Resolution Center to external constituencies, securing funding partners, increasing the awareness of the CRC in the region, and all stewardship activities involving donors, clients, and CRC members. Additionally, the Director of Community Outreach is responsible for some administrative duties including website maintenance and budget management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES
- Marketing the CRC and its services to individuals, government organizations, schools, and corporations in order to broaden the referral base, volunteer pool, and to increase financial support
- Being the “public face” of the CRC, representing the organization to civic groups, neighborhood associations, employers and other constituencies with an affinity for the work of the CRC
- Producing newsletters, correspondence, and emails to promote and inform stakeholders of the CRC’s activities
- Conduct fundraising activities including direct mail, grant-writing, and special events
- Maintain the CRC website
- Oversee the budget process, ensuring that expenditures are in line with income, billing parties for services rendered, and conducting payroll functions
- Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of the CRC Board of Trustees
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required – Bachelors Degree preferred
- Professional experience in the nonprofit sector with some administrative responsibility including strategic planning, public relations, marketing, volunteer management, and development required
- Effective oral and written communications skills required
- Knowledge of the Wayne County Community preferred
- Familiarity with Quick Books and website maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of conflict resolution models preferred
- Experience with direct mail fundraising and grant-writing preferred
