Dear Mediators and CRC supporters, It is with mixed emotions that I send you this letter. After more than 3 wonderful years of employment with the Conflict Resolution Center , I will be leaving at the end of September, 2006 to pursue other professional endeavors. I have been enormously grateful for the opportunities CRC has provided. During my time here I have been touched deeply by conscientious co-workers, exceptional volunteers, and caring Board members. The work itself has also left its mark; I have experienced much transformation by teaching and practicing the mission of CRC. My bearing witness to the healing and reconciliation of parties involved in the mediation process has inspired me repeatedly. For these gifts, I am much humbled by and indebted to each of you for your commitment to CRC. I have been extremely happy with my employment at CRC and feel I am parting with the organization on good terms. I take much pride in the work we’ve done to put CRC in a strong and healthy position to move forward successfully. I am very excited about the possibilities which lie ahead for another person to come and bring different strengths and gifts to lead CRC into a bright and prosperous future. At this time, I am moving to a position which includes advocacy as a central component. As Director of Girls Inc., I will have the opportunity to bring my strong commitments to working for girls and women as I provide education and recreation services to our local population of girls. Given my lifelong commitments to such advocacy work, this new position feels in many respects like a return to home for me. Over the last three years I have told many CRC folk, “You can never leave the CRC family, you just take on a new role.” It is my hope to have the privilege of staying involved with CRC, continuing this important work with you and providing opportunities for conflict transformation to the Richmond and Wayne County community. Best, Beth Harrick |
